Akshay Kumar is ready to try something new in his films with his upcoming film Laxmmi Bomb. Akshay stars as a transgender woman in the film and many have applauded the actor for taking such a bold role for a mainstream film. Recently Disney Plus Hotstar announced that the film will be coming directly to the streaming network for people to watch around the country.
Now the actor has taken to Twitter to react to the Indian government's decision to induct transgender people in the country's paramilitary forces. Recently the Indian Government announced that people from the transgender community will now be allowed to sit for various exams. The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought suggestions and comments from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) on the matter.
The ministry wrote a letter to CAPF on July 1. The letter states, "...the comments for incorporating the issues on transgender as Third gender along with Male/Female in the rules of CAPF (AC) Examination, 202 is yet to be received from CRPF, ITBP, SSB and CISF."
Actor Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, "Brilliant news! Now that’s a progressive move by the government in the right direction. I hope rest of the occupations in the country follow suit (sic)."
Akshay Kumar stars alongside Kiara Advani in Laxmmi Bomb. The film will host its world premiere soon on the digital streaming platform Disney Plus Hotstar.
