Filmmaker AR Murugadoss has directed less than 10 films, yet, he is one of the most respectable directors in Kollywood. Most of his films have become blockbuster hits at the box office.
His recently-released film Sarakr with Thalapathy Vijay became the talk of the town for addressing a pressing issue. Many ministers belonging to the AIADMK party took offence to certain scenes in the film and protest against it.
In a recent media interaction, he hinted at a possible sequel to Thupakki and Kaththi. Both these films starring Vijay spoke about a societal issue that had a lasting impact with the audience.
He said, "There are high chances of sequels to Thupakki and Kaththi. In fact, the climax of both these films have the capability to become another film. But, you have to have a spark to write it. We cannot make a sequel just for the sake of it. When the previous films have become hits, you will want to do a sequel. But, the story should be better than the original."
He further added that there are limitations when you make a sequel. "You have to think a story within the given characters. I'm scared to work with such limitations. But, I have an idea for Thupakki 2," he added.
