We have rarely seen buddy comedies in Telugu cinema. When other languages had a lot of films of that genre, it was a rarity here. Finally, director Tharun Bhascker filled that void with his 2018 film Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi. This film is often considered as the best buddy-comedy made in Telugu cinema. Today, it celebrates the second release anniversary. On this occasion, here is a look back into it.
After the super success of his debut film Pelli Choopulu, Tharun Bhascker decided to do a youthful entertainer as his next. Popular producer Suresh Babu has backed him up. That is how Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi started off. Tharun wanted to go with newcomers to this film. Thus, he selected Vishwak Sen, Sushanth Reddy, Abhinav Gomatam and Venkatesh Kakamanu as the leads of this movie. Anisha Ambrose and Simran Choudhary got selected as the female leads.
The film deals with the story of four friends who go to goa and make a short film for a film festival. Their journey forms the main crux of the movie. There is a high comedy quotient in the film which connected to many people of the Telugu states. Due to the relatability factor, the film is very much loved by the Telugu youth.
The music of the film got composed by Vivek Sagar. The song Aagi Aagi remained as a huge chartbuster on various musical platforms. Upon its release, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi got a positive talk and remained a success at the box office.
