Harshvardhan Kapoor is an unusual name in the film industry. Kapoor has only done 2 major films in the last five years. He made his debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya in 2016. Mirzya was a musical film. Kapoor later also appeared in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero in 2018. Like the name suggests the second film saw Kapoor starring as a superhero.
In a recent interview to News18 Kapoor has opened up about his film choices and the reasoning behind them. Talking about his first two films Kapoor said, "If you told me that my first film would be a musical, I would have never believed you because I personally haven't really loved musicals while growing up. I don't even like superhero films for that matter. But the reason I did them was that they were different. I like films that are innovative and are different in the way that the stories are being told."
“Sometimes films don't really get what they deserve right at the start and then over time, they kind of find it, said Kapoor, adding, “When you put out something original and authentic with honesty and sincerity it always kind of reaches who it has to in the end. I think that's what's happened with Bhavesh (Joshi Superhero). I think longevity is a great barometer of success and I am happy the film aged well," he added.
Harshvardhan Kapoor is next going to appear in a Netflix special written by Anurag Kashyap. Raj Singh Chaudhary has directed the Netflix original period thriller film.
