Ayushmann Khurrana is one of those rare actors in Bollywood who can be banked upon no matter the theme of the film. The actor has delved into issues of caste, gender, and even sexuality in some of his recent films. The National award-winning actor now has many of his films being remade in the South. Khurrana's 2019 hit film Andhadhun is currently getting adapted for a remake in Telugu and Tamil. Shoojit Sircar's helmed Vicky Donor starring Ayushmann Khurrana also got a remake before.
The Bala actor said, "It is quite overwhelming and gratifying to know that so many of my films have been remade. I have always believed that the true test of cinema is in how universal it is because films have the power to transcend language, culture, and borders as we have seen."
"I'm delighted to know this and it validates my content beliefs that I should be backing scripts which stand out and give something new to audiences in theatres'', he added
There are also reports that suggest that Article 15 and Badhaai Ho will also be getting their south remakes.
Ayushmann concluded saying, "Creativity is a collaborative process and I have been fortunate enough to form great artistic relationships with some of the most brilliant minds in the Hindi film industry."
"I also credit all the visionary filmmakers and scriptwriters whose works are being remade as it shows the power of their ideas, which have appealed to audiences and filmmakers despite significant language barriers. I thank them for deciding to make me a part of their cinema."
On the work front Ayushmann Khurrana is soon going to star in Gulabo Sitabo alongside Amitabh Bachchan. The film is getting its worldwide premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
