Bollywood producer Ronnie Screwvala says Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas is on similar lines as Uri: The Surgical Strike

One of the most highly anticipated action films is Tejas. The film stars Kangana Ranaut as an ace fighter pilot. Now in a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, film producer Ronnie Screwvala has shared further insight into the themes of Tejas. Screwvala told the media that Tejas is not a sequel to Uri: The Surgical Strike. He also added saying that Tejas is being made on the same level and scale as the national award-winning film Uri.

In the interview, Ronnie added saying, "We wanted to make a film on the army so Uri happened. Tejas is not a sequel to Uri, because that was a true story and this isn’t. But it is on the same lines and on the same scale.”

Sarvesh Mewara is all set to direct Tejas. The film was scheduled to begin shooting in July but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. In a different interview, Kangana Ranaut also expressed her excitement on playing an Indian Air Force Pilot. She said that she has always wanted to play an officer of the armed forces. “I’ve always wanted to play a soldier and have been fascinated with the Armed Forces since childhood. I’ve never held back my emotions for our jawans and spoken openly about how strongly I feel about their heroism. They keep our country secure and our people safe. So, I’m very happy to be doing this film,” she said. “Being in uniform will be one of the biggest highlights of my life,” she added.
