In a career spanning over four decades, Chiranjeevi has acted in many memorable films. He has also won various Nandi and Filmfare Awards in his career. He won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor, for the 1982 film Subhalekha. Iconic director K. Vishwanath had directed the film. Today is the 38th release anniversary of this movie. On this occasion, let us take a look back into it.
 
Sumalatha played the female lead in this movie. Subhalekha deals with the story of a waiter named Narasimha Murthy and a lecturer named Sujatha. How Murthy remains as a support system for Sujatha during her tough times forms the main crux of the film. It is a beautiful drama weaved with well-written characters. Not only the leads but the supporting actors have also given their best in the film. The film also marked the debut of popular actor Subhalekha Sudhakar. The success of this film made him use the title as his name's prefix.
 
The music of Subhalekha got composed by K.V. Mahadevan. All the songs good a good reception from the audiences. Especially tracks like Raagala Pallakilo, Vinnapalu Vinavale, and Marugelara Oo Raghava have gained more popularity. Upon its release, Subhalekha got a good response from audiences as well as the critics. It also went on to have a 100-days run across many centers. Chiranjeevi won Best Actor Filmfare and Vishwanath won Best Director Filmfare for this movie. After this film, the duo teamed up for other movies like Aapathbhandhavudu and Swayam Krushi.
