After much debate and rumors of who will star in the upcoming Nag Ashwin directorial Prabhas 21, it was finally announced that Deepika Padukone will take on the female lead. Rumors of Deepika's remuneration figures were making the rounds leading up to the announcement. The latest buzz is that Deepika will receive a massive check of Rs 20 crores for the Prabhas starrer!
 
The Nag Ashwin directorial is the first time the pair will share the screen. Sources say that the makers jumped quite a few hurdles to get Deepika on board. When the makers of the film made an offer she couldn't resist, Deepika signed on. An insider source said, "Deepika these days, asks for remuneration on a par with what the leading man of a film gets. She rightly feels she has earned herself a place of gender equality in her profession.”
 
The source also revealed the remuneration that the two leads will receive. With a paycheck of Rs 20 crores, Deepika will be the highest-paid actress in the industry. Reports also say that Prabhas is all set to receive more than double the amount. He might receive a staggering amount of Rs 50 crores! Sources also say that the makers redesigned the character to resonate Deepika's stardom!
 
Meanwhile, Prabhas is gearing up to star in the Radha Krishna Kumar directorial Radhe Shyam. Radhe Shyam also stars actress Pooja Hegde. Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, is looking forward to star in the film 83 opposite Ranveer Singh. She will also appear in director Shakun Batra's next directorial.
