Known for mostly playing negative characters in Hindi television shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Jodha Akbar, etc, Chetan Hansraj
was also a part of both B.R. Chopra and Ekta Kapoor
's Mahabharat. While he played the role of young Balram in the 1988 Mahabharat, almost two decades later he essayed the character of Bheem in Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki. When asked to compare his experience of working in both the shows, Chetan said that both the Mahabharat's belong to two different eras and it would be quite difficult to compare them.
"There's a huge time gap between both BR Chopra and Ekta's Mahabharat so I don't think they can be compared. Earlier, there were limited things to do with technical stuff but later on the advancement took over and a lot of things changed. So, both the Mahabharat's belong to two different eras altogether, " he said. Due to the current situation of the lockdown, BR Chopra's Mahabharat is being rerun on television. After successfully grabbing the audience on DD Bharati and Colors TV, the makers have decided to run it on Star Bharat.
After being in this industry for so long, Chetan explains how the negative characters have evolved with time. "Earlier there used to be two people, one playing the hero and other doing his part as the villain. But nowadays I feel the hero is doing both. He works as both the positive and the negative character, " said Chetan.
Talking further about how he's been spending time in the lockdown, the 47-years old actor said that he's learning a new computer programming language. "I've been taking a course. It is a computer programming language and I hope to learn it during this phase of the lockdown, " he said.
