Versatile actor Dhanush proved his acting mettle for the first time with the 2003 film Kaadhal Kondein. It is often considered as one of the finest performances of Dhanush. Today, the film celebrates 17 years of its release. On this occasion, Dhanush said that he will be forever grateful and indebted to its director Selva Raghavan.
Earlier today, Dhanush shared a poster of the film and tweeted, "@selvaraghavan forever grateful and indebted." Sonia Agarwal played the female lead in this movie. The film deals with the story of an outcast who gets obsessed over a girl who pays attention to him. How his obsession becomes deadly, forms the main crux of the film. Sudeep Sarangi, Nagesh, and Daniel Balaji played the other important roles in the movie. This film marked the directorial debut of Selvaraghavan. He chooses his younger brother Dhanush to play the lead role in it. Later, the duo teamed up for other classic hits like Pudhupettai and Mayakkam Enna.
The music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja is another major asset for the film. The album contains 20 tracks overall. Seven of them were original songs, four of them are bit songs and nine were theme music tracks. Kaadhal Kondein got remade into various languages as well. It got remade into Telugu as Nenu, Kannada as Ravana, Bengali as Amanush, and Bengali Bangladesh as Onno Manush. All Dhanush fans are celebrating the occasion by trending this movie on social media.
