Vijay Sethupathi, who is going gaga over his upcoming film Seethakathi, is playing the role of an ageing superstar Ayya Adhimoolam in the film. Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, the film will hit the theatres on December 21 along with four other Tamil films.
Indian National League, a political party, has raised objection to the use of Seethakaathi as the title for Vijay Sethupathi's film. They have stated that the name of a great scholar (Seethakaathi) should not be kept as a title for a commercial film.
The political party's district head Abdul Rahim, in a statement, revealed that they cannot allow an entertainment film to bear the name of a legendary scholar. Also, they stated that they will take legal against against the team of Seethakaathi if they continue to ignore INL's messages.
Seethakaathi, directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan is a film about the most celebrated actor and how he lives on forever through his art. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Archana, Mouli and Sunil Reddy in important roles.
