Noted Telugu lyricist Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao landed in legal trouble. As per the reports, a case has been filed against him under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for supporting the practice of untouchability. The news is currently all over the media. Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao who is a well-known poet wrote a poem about Coronavirus.
But, as the poem is like promoting the practice of untouchability. Telangana Mala Welfare Association president, Battula Ram Prasad approached the Nampally police and filed a complaint. Jonnavithula has been booked under section 3 (1) of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Prevention of Civil Rights Act under Article 17.
However, Jonnavittula tried to clarify on the issue. The senior lyricist said that he just meant that everyone are now following social distancing. The lyricist clarified that he never intended to hurt the feelings of others.
On the work front, he will be making a biopic on Ram Gopal Varma with the title 'RGV (Roju Gille Vadu). As of now, the film's announcement has come but there is no clarity on when the project hits the floors.
