Keerthy Suresh to replace Anushka in the sequel of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu; Official announcement awaited

Actor Kamal Haasan teamed up with director Gautham Vasudev Menon for the 2008 film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The film got dubbed into Telugu as Raghavan. Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu was a part of Menon's cop universe. It was a successful venture at the box office. Menon is now planning to make a sequel of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. If the ongoing grapevine is anything to go by, Keerthy Suresh will play the female lead in it. Earlier, Anushka Shetty was in consideration for this role but it looks like Keerthy grabbed it now.

According to the sources, the makers thought that Keerthy will be an apt choice for the sequel of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Moreover, she is one of the top-league actresses in South India right now. Compared to Anushka, Keerthy has a higher market value in the industry right now. We hear that is the reason why the makers are inclining towards Keerthy. Kamal Haasan will reprise the lead hero role in this sequel as well. The original version featured Jyothika and Kamalini Mukherjee as the female leads. If everything falls in place, the shooting of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu sequel will go on the floors next year.

As of now, Gautham Menon is busy with the works of his other directorial films. He is currently looking after the works of Trivikram's Dhruva Natchathiram. Meanwhile, his other film Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is also nearing the completion. Apart from these two, Gautham is also directing a Netflix Tamil film.
