Khaali Peeli to release in theatres on October 16, becomes the first Bollywood film to hit the big screens during COVID-19

As the theatres are all set to open on October 15, the first Bollywood film to be released On big screens in Khaali Peeli. This Ananya Pandey and Ishaan Khatter starrer film can be watched nationwide in theatres which will be opening with full sanitization work and prevention. Last week, the film released on Zee Plex which is a pay per view OTT platform of Zee enterprises. Since the film fell short of collecting much revenue, the makers have decided to drop their curtains on big screens now.

 
Apart from Khaali Peeli, Ka Pae Ranasingam, which is a Tamil film, will also release in the theatres. Both the films had a Zee Plex release last week. Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the news on social media. He tweeted, "ALL SET FOR THEATRICAL RELEASE... #KhaaliPeeli and #Tamil film #KaPaeRanasingam - which premiered on #ZeePlex last week [2 Oct 2020] - will now release in *cinemas* next week [16 Oct 2020]... OFFICIAL posters announcing the theatrical release (sic)."
 
 
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime has released a new list of films to be released on their app soon. The Bollywood films amongst them include Coolie No.1 starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan Khan. Also, Bhumi Pednekar's film and Rajkummar and Nushratt's Chalaang. All these films have skipped the theatrical release and have sold their rights to Amazon Prime Video.
