Akshay Kumar's horror-comedy Laxmii was released last week on Disney+ Hotstar and got mixed reviews from the audience and the critics. While some found the film entertaining and the acting superb, others slammed it for overboard with drama. In an interview with a leading website, Sharad Kelkar, who played Laxmi, said he doesn't care about the bad reviews. "It is a mixed review I think. It is a big film, a lot of effort has gone into it. The kind of response the film is getting and Akshay sir is getting, I am very happy with it."
Sharad said that he only cares about his wife's views, who cried after watching his role and she hugged him and said she's proud of him.
"She watched the film and was crying and hugged me saying she is proud of me. I think that was it. That for me was the biggest compliment," he added. In an earlier interview, Sharad talked about people appreciating his role and how it feels to read good reviews about his performance. “I have read several reactions and many people have been judgmental. But I have to say, it feels good to read comments from people who talk about your performance," he added.
Laxmii was directed by Raghav Lawrence and it also starred Kiara Advani in the lead role. Laxmii is the Hindi remake of the South Indian film called Kanchana.
