Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu has had a fabulous year with the success of Bharat Ane Nenu, directed by Koratala Siva. In the film, he played the role of chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
Now, the actor is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. It is said that the actor’s bank accounts have been frozen for evading tax payment for the year 2007 to 2008.
According to sources, Mahesh Babu’s ICICI and Axis bank accounts have been frozen by the GST Commisonerate. It is said the that actor hadn’t paid Rs 18 lakhs of tax money in the said year.
Mahesh Babu or his manager haven’t reacted to the controversy yet. But, sources say that he will go ahead and make the payment soon to avoid any legal issues. Mahesh Babu is currently shooting for his 25th film called Maharshi, directed by Vamsi Paidilally. In this film, Kiara Advani plays the female lead.
