Malayalam writer and director KR Sachidanandan who is popularly known as Sachy passed away on Thursday night at Thrissur’s Jubilee Mission Hospital. The CEO of Jubilee Mission hospital, Dr. Benny Joseph confirmed the same. Sachy was on ventilator support for almost two days after getting admitted to the hospital at 2 am on Tuesday. Sachy suffered a cardiac arrest and hypoxic brain damage after undergoing a total hip replacement surgery at another hospital in Thrissur.
Sachy debuted in the film industry as a writer and then moved on to direction. He debuted as a director in 2015 with the Prithviraj-starrer 'Anarkali'. He shot to fame with the Prithviraj and Biju Menon-starrer 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum'.
He is the one who directed the critically acclaimed, 'Driving License' movie as well. Mollywood has been mourning his death and everyone have been paying condolences to his family members.
Both Driving License and Ayyappanum Koshiyum are currently in talks for remakes in the South. Ayyappanum Koshiyum will surely be a big hit at the box-office if attempted properly. The remake is on cards in Tamil and Telugu languages.
For the Telugu version, Rana Daggubati and Ravi Teja are in talks. Sagar Chandra's name is in consideration as a director.
