Ace director Mani Ratnam whose previous outing 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' became a debacle at the box office is now going to come up with the much-anticipated multistarrer movie 'Ponniyin Selvan'. So many star actors like Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, 'Jayam Ravi, Trisha, etc are playing crucial roles in this movie. Touted to be a periodic drama, the makers have been busy shooting for this film. But, because of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, the makers have halted the shooting of the film. As per the latest reports, the makers are now in plans to resume the film shootings by following the government guidelines.

 
On this note, they are planning a shooting schedule in Pondicherry. It seems like the shooting schedule is going to take place for 30 days. Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi are going to participate in the shooting schedule of the film. The movie is going to get released in two parts. AR Rahman is composing tunes for this film.
 
The film unit is planning to shoot the movie with a limited crew. The plans are underway and the government is going to grant the permissions for the shoot soon. As of now, there is no proper clarity on it but the producers might make an announcement soon.
