The Mumbai Police, known to have an active and quite popular Twitter account, had recently posted a tweet calling out actor Dulquer Salman for supposedly using his phone will driving. The photograph shared with the tweet shows the actor on the driver's seat of an Audi with a phone in his hand, prompting the police to call out the actor for unsafe driving.
Dulquer's co-star, Sonam Kapoor was quick to respond to the Mumbai Police and correct them on their assumption.
The actress clarified that the Audi was rigged to a truck and was being towed at the time and hence, Dulquer was not behind the wheel. The actress went on to thank the Mumbai Police for their concern and urged them to focus as much on regular people as they do on celebrities. To this, the Mumbai police responded saying, "We agree with you, Sonam Kapoor! Quite a 'weirdo' to try such stunts while driving and putting the lives of fellow drivers at risk too! We don't quite approve of these even in 'reel' life. #NotDone"
Dulquer Salman also tweeted from his account clarifying that "The car was rigged to a low loader truck which was also the camera rig. I couldn't steer or drive the car even if I wanted to. Also this particular car cannot steer itself."
Finally, the Mumbai Police thanked both the actors for not indulging in any irresponsible violations and commended them for setting a good example for their fans.
