Annamayya is one of the biggest hits in Tollywood film industry. Nagarjuna Akkineni played the lead roles in this devotional movie. V Doraswamy Raju is the producer of the film who made it under the VMC Productions banner. K Raghavender Rao is the director of the movie. The movie Annamayya is based on 15th century music composer Annamacharya who is a devotee of Lord Venkateshwara. The film released in the year 1997 and completes 23 years today.

 
Annamayya features Akkineni Nagarjuna, Mohan Babu, Suman, Ramya Krishnan, Bhanupriya, Roja, and Kasthuri. The music scored by MM Keeravani is a big hit at the box-office. The audio album still trends today. The film took off on an interesting note and it was the first devotional movie from the combination of Nagarjuna and Raghavender Rao. The film not only brought profits to the producers but also brought a lot of awards. The movie won eight Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards and two National Film Awards. Also, Annamayya got premiered at the 1998 International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section.
