Nawazuddin Siddiqui believes actors shouldn't be bothered by whether their films open on the big screen or OTT platforms.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Ghoomketu. The film is made directly for a release on Zee5 and also stars Anurag Kashyap. Ghoomketu isn't the only film to see a release that skips theatres either. Films like Laxmmi Bomb starring Akshay Kumar and Gulabo Sitabo starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan are also heading for a OTT release. This has sparked a major controversy as PVR and other theatre companies are deeply unhappy about the news.

Now actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has revealed that he thinks actors shouldn't worry about their films releasing in theatres or OTT platforms. Speaking about the process of shooting for Ghoomketu he said, "When we were shooting this film, we shot it like we shoot films for theaters. In today’s time, I think OTT is the only way where people are able to watch films. So I don’t personally think that it really matters to actors. And actors shouldn’t be bothered about whether their films release on an OTT platform or in a theatre anyway. The fact that our films are able to release is a big deal in itself.”

"It was very interesting because generally actors know where their co-stars will take a pause but it was a bit difficult to predict Anurag. So, while it was a lot of fun, I was never able to consider him a character. I always felt he was Anurag. I felt he might say ‘cut’ in between, and because he is a director, I also feared he would catch my mistakes,” he added.

He also said that he current Coronavirus pandemic has impacted his own acting prowess. He concluded saying, “I've watched over 80 films during the lockdown and I feel my acting style will change post lockdown. Because your thought process also changes when you get time to reflect. It feels like there will be a new start for me once the lockdown is over."
