Movie buffs and netizens are all praises for Satyadev and Venkatesh Maha’s Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya
which is streaming on Netflix since July 30. This film is an official and faithful remake of Malayalam blockbuster film Maheshinte Prathikaram, a Fahadh Fasil starrer. The remake is directed by Venkatesh Maha, the man who made C/o Kancherapalem.
Everything about the film has been going well until fans of Mahesh Babu started #UMURteamShouldApologizeMaheshBabu. The makers of the film couldn’t bask in the glory of the film being a hit because soon, things took an ugly turn on social media. There are a couple of scenes in the film where fans of Mahesh Babu
and Jr NTR
argue about the versatility and performances of each other. Jr NTR fan in the film calls Mahesh Babu as a lazy actor and it just goes on.
The comments and trolls were targeted at Satyadev
, director Venkatesh Maha and the entire team as well.
Some of those upset fans took to Twitter to condemn Satyadev, director Venkatesh Maha and the team of Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya. They said that Mahesh Babu is the first Telugu actor to take the name of Tollywood to the international level. He has even encouraged new talents. They also reminded the director of his positive review of Care of Kancharapalem on his Twitter account. Since then, #UMURteamShouldApologizeMaheshBabu is trending on social media.
Well, verbal wars of fans of celebrities are nothing new to twitter. But sometimes, fans need to understand that whatever is said or shown in films, about celebrities, is just for the sake of entertainment and not to hurt anyone’s intentions. This needs to be understood to avoid controversies.
The makers of UMUR are yet to respond to these trolls and comments.
