It has been two years since Tamil Nadu former chief minister J Jayalalithaa breathed her last. The vacuum created by her is still left and the mystery surrounding her death is still doing the rounds.
Early this year, debutant Priyadarshini announced that she will be directing the biopic titled The Iron Lady, which is based on J Jayalalithaa’s life. The pre-production work is underway for over a year now.
The latest update is that actress Nithya Menen has been chosen to reprise J Jayalalithaa in the biopic. A poster bearing her photo was unveiled today morning. In the poster, Nithya Menen has an uncanny resemblance to the former chief minister.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who was last seen in Vijay’s Sarkar, is said to be playing Sasikala in the movie. In Sarkar, she played a politician and aced the role.
In addition to Priyadarshini, directors Bharathiraja and AL Vijay have also announced the biopics on J Jayalalithaa’s life.
