Petta trailer review: Rajinikanth goes all guns blazing

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta has been the talk of the town for a couple of months now. The film, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is all set to hit the theatres on January 10.

The makers of Petta decided to present New Year’s gift to Thalaivar’s fans ahead of New Year. The trailer of the much-anticipated film was unveiled today and as expected it went viral on social media.

The trailer is mind-blowing as we get to witness Rajinikanth in his playful avatar yet again. He oozes swag and there are a plenty of mass elements for the fans to root for.

Rajinikanth as the college warden is great to watch in this energetic avatar. However, the trailer didn’t quite concentrate much on Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s characters which has piqued the curiosity.

Simran and Trisha look gorgeous in the trailer. It is quite refreshing to watch the mature romance blooming between Rajinikanth and Simran in the college. Trisha appears in a blink and miss role in the trailer but looks resplendent.

The trailer sure is the best curtain raiser to this film, which is directed by young filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, who is a self-proclaimed fan of Superstar. The 2-minute long trailer didn’t slip out the plot and it is commendable.

Petta stars Rajinikanth, Simran, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Sasikumar, Bobby Simhaa, Megha Akash and Malavika Mohanan in important roles.
