After the success of Darbar earlier this year, Superstar Rajinikanth signed Annaatthe under the direction of Siva. The shooting of this film started in Hyderabad during the initial months of this year. The makers completed half of the shoot in a specially erected set at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. After the lockdown got announced, the shoot came on a halt. From the last few days, it is being reported that the movie got shelved. However, we hear that the film is not shelved. The makers are waiting for the situation to get normal. According to the sources, the team has decided to wrap the entire film in Chennai.

They took this decision to avoid travelling for the cast and crew during these pandemic times. The government of Tamil Nadu is yet to permit the resumption of the shoots in the state. Once the government passes a GO of the resumption of shoots, the makers will take Annaatthe on the floors.

Annaatthe features Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Kushboo and Meena in the pivotal roles. Prakash Raj is also essaying a key character in the movie. It is being produced by Sun Pictures. D. Imman is composing the music of it. The makers planned to release the film during Sankranthi 2021. But considering the present situation, it may not hit the screens as per the plan. Stay tuned for more updates on it.
