The film which established Vishwaksen
as an actor and as a director is Falaknuma Das. No one thought a 24-year-old young man can direct, act, and produce a movie by himself. It is rather an achievement for him. Today, Falaknuma Das celebrates its one year anniversary. On this occasion, let us revisit this Hyderabadi action drama.
Rarely we saw authentic Hyderabadi films in Telugu cinema. It is quite a sad thing as many of our filmmakers failed to project the authenticity of Hyderabad on the silver screen. But Vishwak made an attempt at it. Falaknuma Das is undoubtedly the pure Hyderabadi film that got made in a long time. Though it was a remake of the Malayalam film Angamaly Diaries, Vishwak managed to bring the flavor of Hyderabad very well. It showcases the by-lanes, delicious mutton recipes, and the ugly gang wars of the old city. Even the dialogues worked very well in the film. On the whole, Falaknuma Das appealed to the younger generation and gained a hit status among them.
The songs of this film got composed by Vivek Sagar. All the songs became chartbusters, especially the rap song and Arere Manasa. Sung by Sid Sriram, Arere Manasa still tops the music charts on various musical platforms. Upon its release, Falaknuma Das got a good opening and remained as a successful venture at the box office. It also brought Vishwak wide fame among the Telugu audiences. Suresh Productions had presented this film and released it across the Telugu states.
