Veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese is one of the few A-listed filmmakers who supported the advent of OTT platforms. He also made the film The Irishman which got funded by the streaming giant Netflix. Celebrated actors like Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino acted in this gangster drama. Currently, Scorsese is working on his next film Killers of the Flower Moon. Apple TV, which is relatively a new streaming service, has now teamed up with Paramount Pictures to bankroll the film.
According to the sources, Paramount Pictures will still distribute the film theatrically across the world. It looks like the film will start streaming on Apple Tv after a couple of weeks of the theatrical release. We hear that the deal is not yet closed but it will most likely happen in a few days. The film will be also co-produced by Imperative Entertainment. Killers of the Flower Moon features Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead roles.
The story revolves around a Bureau of Investigation which deals with the serial murder cases in the city. The book has the subtitle, "The Osage Murders and the Birth of the F.B.I."
There were a lot of budget issues for this film for a long time. We hear that the estimated cost is around $180-$200 million dollars. With the entry of Apple TV, now the issues seem to get cleared.
