The New Mutants starring Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy gets a new teaser and a Comic-Con panel; will the mutant flick finally release?

The New Mutants has had somewhat of a rocky path. The trailer for the Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy starrer came out way back in 2017 and was to hit the theatres on April 13, 2018. However, the film has suffered from a series of delays and is yet to see the light of day. Ahead of ‘Comic Con at home’ next week, Marvel has dropped yet another teaser to announce a Comic-Con Panel that will happen on the 23rd of July. Don't get us wrong, the teaser looks fantastic. As did the ones that came before. The question on everyone's minds after the teaser drop is "Will the film ever hit the theatres?" or "Can they just have a digital release instead of delaying it yet another time?"

The New Mutants was first delayed to avoid a clash with the release of the now-infamous superhero flick Deadpool 2 in 2018. The second delay came to avoid another clash with Dark Phoenix in 2019. It was yet again delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The makers of the film are aiming for an August release (28th August). Rumors of yet another delay are making the rounds. The news of director Josh Boone presiding over the Comic-Con panel is, however, a breath of fresh air. The fans of the film might just get more out of the panel than they have from the array of timely teasers and updates over the last 3 years.

The New Mutants is an installment of the X-Men franchise. The film features a huge cast of Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga who play the young mutants of the series.
