Harish Shankar is quite keen on proving himself to the audience list the debacle with DJ. Well, he is now back with Jigarthanda, a Tamil cult hit remake in Telugu. He has roped in the Geek God of Telugu Cinema, Varun Tej, who was last seen in Tholi Prema and Fida and is soon going to be seen in first space film, Anthariksham. He is going to shed the lover boy image and unleash his acting skills by playing the bad boy with this film.
The film is going to be launched on January 26, which happens to be Republic Day. On a public holiday, it is certainly a great idea to launch a film.
The movie will go on sets by mid of February and looks like it will reach the audience by May or June.
In Tamil, the movie was directed by Karthik Subbaraju, who rose to fame with Pizza movie. The movie starred Siddarth and Bobby Simha.
Harish wanted a person with hero status to play the antagonist. Thus, he chose Varun Tej. The actor too readily agreed to take this meaty and challenging role.
Rashmika Mandanna is playing the female lead. The male lead is yet to be freed. The director is eyeing on Naga Shaurya or Raj Tarun.
