If there is a movie of Baahubali stature that is going to be released then it is Rajnikanth’s 2.0. There is going to be obvious box office comparison between the two.
Although it is too early to talk about it, looks like 2.0 might transcend Baahubali at the box office, which is going to release on November 29.
While Baahubali was made in two parts with Rs 250 cr budget each, 2.0 is made with 500 crores. According to a Bollywood website, while Bahubali was screened in 6500 screens, 2.0 is going to play in nearly 6600 to 6800 screens. 2.0 is going to have nearly 32000 to 33000 shows across India and the shows are going to start at 4am itself at many parts of the country. Bahubali only had 31000 shows.
If we have to go by reports, 2.0 has already earns Rs 370 via Satellite Rights, Rs 60 cr for Digital Rights, 80 cr in Northern region, 70 cr in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana Rights, 25 cr in Karnataka Rights and 15 cr in Kerala Rights.
Baahubali - The conclusion had collected a whopping Rs 41 crore (Hindi version) on the release day and had collected Rs 40.50 crore and Rs 46.50 crore on its first Saturday and Sunday taking the total opening weekend collection to Rs 128 crore at the box office. The movie went on to become the first movie to cross Rs 400 crore and Rs 500 crore mark in the Hindi circuit with its outstanding run.
2.0 tickets have been selling at rocket pace. But considering all these factors, it is still difficult for 2.0 to surpass Bahubali bearing the history the movie has created. Considering the hype around 2.0, it is being said that Film may earn somewhere around Rs 25-30 crore (Hindi version) on its opening day according to early estimates. Though it is too early to predict the pan-India total of day 1 collection, it will be interesting to see if 2.0 will be able surpass Baahubali 2 opening day box office record (Hindi version). let’s see if Shankar’s movie too does the same!
