Film release timing is very essential in deciding the success of a movie and Sankranthi for Telugu films is always a great time but with pandemic still doing rounds, there is uncertainty about the occupancy in the theatres.
Corona Crisis has ruined the shoots of all the movies. The releases also came to a halt from March 20th. Many new movies V, Red, Uppena, Nishabdham, and others are lined up for a release but the lockdown pushed them to a halt. Now, the shoots are also not happening aggressively. No star hero or star director is ready to begin the shoot of their film. In the middle of this, a couple of filmmakers made announcements about bringing their films for a release during Sankranthi 2021.
Many heroes who want to release their movies during Dusshera this year are now looking at Sankranthi next year. Films like Pushpa, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, and RRR will take a lot of time to release and they all might come up to theatres in the second half of next year. Megastar Chiranjeevi's Acharya and Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab might come up during Summer next year. With star heroes avoiding box-office during Sankranthi, the young heroes wanted to grab the same.
Nithiin announced that his latest film Rang De would release during Sankranthi. At the same time, Akhil Akkineni's Most Eligible Bachelor is also scheduled for a release during Sankranthi. As of now, the other young heroes are also looking at blocking slots for Sankranthi releases next year.
