Young actress Zaira Wasim created a controversy a few days back, by commenting on the locusts' attack in the country. This controversial tweet resulted in a heavy backlash on Zaira. Soon, she deactivated her social media accounts. She is back again on social media the other day. The actress said that she is also a human, like everyone else and she also needs to take a break from the things affecting her.
A few days back, Zaira tweeted, "So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood. Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance- a people gave to sin -Qur’ a 7:133 (sic)." This tweet received severe backlash from the netizens. Some people went overboard and started a verbal attack on the Dangal girl. Thus, Zaira took a break from social media.
She is back yesterday. Replying to a post which questioned her absence, Zaira tweeted, "Because I’m just a human, like everyone else, who’s allowed to take a break from everything whenever the noise inside my head or around me reaches its peak."
Zaira made her debut with the 2016 film Dangal. She then acted in Secret Superstar and The Sky is Pink. A few months back, she quit acting, stating that her profession is interfering with her faith. "This field indeed brought a lot of love, support, and applause my way. But what it also did was to lead me to a path of ignorance, as I silently and unconsciously transitioned out of ‘ Imaan’" tweeted Zaira, announcing her exit from films.
