Serious Men Movie Story:

Netflix's Serious Men which released today, stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shweta Basu Prasad, Indira Tiwari, and Aakshath Das in lead roles and has been directed by Sudhir Mishra. The film is based upon the novel of the same name by Manu Joseph.

To what extent can you go in order to climb up the social ladder? What's the ultimate end to the rat race we all as humans indulge in? These are some of the questions you'll be asking yourself after watching this Netflix film. While the streaming platform counts on Radhika Apte as their lucky mascot, things are about to roll on Nawaz's side after this film. Serious Men is a powerful tale telling the story of a father named Ayyan Mani (Nawazuddin) trapped in societal biasedness, for he belongs to, what society calls a 'lower cast' (Dalit), coupled with a doomed, unprivileged life. As his own life is spent listening to words such as 'Moron', Ayyan decides to take the fate of his son in his own hands.

Taking cues from his boss (Nassar), who's a scientist, Ayyan builds a whole fake show of his son (Aakshath Das) being a brilliant kid by deceiting everyone including his own wife (Indira Tiwari), only to the extent of pushing him towards the path of self-destruction and anxiety. Director Sudhir Mishra has cleverly unrolled the film, as on one point, you will understand the anger of Nawazuddin as a father, despite knowing about all his wrongful deeds, and other times will make you want to stop him.

Likewise, the word 'microbes' (organisms which are researched by the scientists) plays as a perfect metaphor for the human life, suggesting our own capacity to destroy oneself. As far as the acting is concerned, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has as usual excelled in his role, but here's a special shoutout to the little kid Aakshath Das, who plays Nawaz's son, for his actions will leave you spellbound. Other actors such as Indira Tiwari, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Nassar have also done a great job as supporting actors in the film. There are only small instances that have a slow plot but it is only to stress upon the emotions of the characters.

Overall, Serious Men on Netflix is one of the best films this year and you can surely go ahead watching it with your family and friends.
