The Regional Meteorological Centre on Saturday predicted moderate to heavy rain in delta and southern districts for next two days, while Chennai would remain cloudy.
According to RMC, heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Tiruppur districts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikal district of Puducherry in the next two days.
In Chennai, the sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy and maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 and 25 degree Celsius, the weathermen said. Addressing the media, Dr Puviyarasan, director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, said that the intensity of rain in delta and southern districts would gradually reduce. “Even as rain continues to lash delta region, it would lessen in the coming days ahead,” the weather expert noted.
