The Enforcement Directory (ED) on Thursday said that it has attached properties worth Rs 54 crore of Karthi son of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, in India, UK and Spain in connection with the INX media money laundering case. The central probe agency issused a provisional order under the prevention of money laundering act (PMLA) for attachment of assests in kodaikanal and ooty in Tamil Nadu, a flat in Delhi, A cottage and a house in UK and a tennis club located in Barcelona,spain.
He also has Fixed Deposit worth Rs 90 lakh, kept in a bank in chennai in the name of Advantage Strategic Consulting Private Limited(ASCPL) have also been attached under the same order. Karti Chidambaram was quic to react and took twitter and tweeted as" A bizarre and outlandish "Provisinal Attachment order" which is not based om law or facts but on crazy conjectures. The order will not withstand judicial Scrunity, review or appeal. I will approach the appropriate lega forum".
