In Khammam Constituency, Puvvada Ajay is contesting from TRS. And in the same constituency, Nama Nageswara Rao, the senior leader of TDP is contesting from Mahakootami. In 2014 elections, Puvvada Ajay had won the elections contesting from Congress against Tummala Nageswar Rao with a difference of 5000+ votes.
Later he jumped into TRS. Senior Communist party leader, Puvvada Nageswar Rao had earned decades of goodwill and popularity among citizens of Khammam. And Puvvada Ajay happens to be the son of this senior leader. And this inherited goodwill may be helpful to him to win the upcoming elections. Puuvada Ajay said that he had jumped to TRS to help the people better by staying in ruling party.
Earlier he was also with YSRCP. But after the bifurcation, as the YSRCP had lost its charm in Telangana, he had left it. He has corporate exposure and well versed with poll management and also with the ways of sensitizing the people in root level. Whereas, Nama Nageswara Rao also belongs to Kamma community and has a similar influence as compared to Puvvada Ajay. About 40000 votes belong to Kamma in this constituency. And many say that the letter ‘h’ can be removed from Khammam and made it to kammam attributing to its population in that area. After all these, it seems like the lack of abilities of Nama to get well with people will be affecting his winning edge badly. And it is clear that it is going to be a tough fight for Nama.
