A general consent has been issued to CBI to conduct investigations regarding the allegations of corruption in the AP state. But Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu had decided to withdraw the general consent to CBI. Responding to this decision of CBN, Former Joint Director Of CBI, VV LAKSHMI NARAYANA on Friday had said that he observes some fault in CBN's decision. He said that the state government might have the right to deny the general consent to CBI, but it has to provide a valid reason for that. He added that it is not proper to close any agency as there have been allegations on the company. He told that, it was like closing the entire hospital as one of the doctors had done the mistake. He also said that the state government's decision might lead to rampant corruption in central government. He then said that forever single case, the CBI had to go to state government for approval. He also observed that CBN's decision was against the anti-corruption moment by the central government.
Lakshmi Narayana also said that in Jagan's attack case, the CBI will take up investigation only if it is directed by the court. He added that, Naidu must wage a political battle, if he has any reservations on the appointments in CBI. He went on saying that, this is because, Supreme court is looking into the affairs of the agency. He also reminded Naidu the Karnataka issue, where the government which had earlier cancelled the permissions to CBI to conduct probes on mining cases had to later restore the permissions following the Supreme court's intervention.
