Mahendra Singh Dhoni announces retirement from International Cricket; Doubts grow on his brand value now

Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni announced his retirement a few days back. This announcement came in as a shocker for many of the fans. Dhoni's retirement was on cards. But everyone expected him to play at least the upcoming T20 World Cup. Thus, this sudden decision shocked many. Now, the business circles are analyzing the after-effects of his retirement. They are analyzing whether it will affect his brand value. It seems like retirement will have no effect on the brand value of Dhoni.

Dhoni worked as a brand ambassador for many products over the last 16 years. He still endorses many brands and products. Some of them are Flipkart, Cars24, Redbus, Indigo Paints, Dream11, Snickers, Indian Terrain, Panerai Watches, Ashok Leyland, Gulf of India, Sumadhura Group, Pokerstars and Powerade. Apparently, the actor charges Rs. 1.5 crores a day to shoot ad-commercials for any brand. His brand value remains the same and these endorsements will be in his kitty for sure in the coming days as well. The reason is the superstardom of the player. Even though he bid adieu to the International Cricket, Dhoni will play IPL this year and next year as well. People didn't forget him and will not forget him anytime soon. After all, he is the only captain to win all the major ICC trophies.

There is a reason why Dhoni enjoys a massive following among fans. His retirement will not affect that stardom. Thus, his brand value remains the same for the next couple of years, say the experts.
