Mobile phones were strictly not allowed inside the polling booth. Notwithstanding the apprised rules, people carried their phones and when asked to deposit it outside and take it in, they ran amok. Since there were facilities to submit their phones anywhere, they went back home without voting.
At the Banjara Hills polling centre, enough measures were not taken to accommodate or make it easy for the physically handicapped. Physically challenged people should have some facilities to enter easily and exercise their vote but that didn’t happen at Banjara Hills, resulting in depreciation of voter number.
According to Election Commissioner Rajatha Kumar, only 10% of polling was completed and there was a long way to go. By end of the day, we have to wait and see how many cast their votes.
