Minister Jagadish Reddy is said to be contesting from, Suryapet which is a part of combined Nalgonda districts. He actually won in 2014 elections with a narrow margin of 2800 votes. By profession he is a lawyer. He did so many good deeds to his constituency. He worked to get district status to Suryapet. He also allocated funds to suryapet from TRS government. Still, this election is going to be a tougher one for him. As he is facing allegations about the the land scam as well as Quid Pro Quo allegations. Also he has a strong competitor to compete against. Sankineni Venkateswara Rao was the competitor in 2014, who was an independent candidate.
This time he has joined hands with BJP and grew stronger. Also former minister, Ramreddy Damodar Reddy is also contesting against him. Damodar is contesting from Congress. Interestingly Jagadish Reddy is also incharge of entire district to maximize the number of winning candidates for TRS. But due to his poor choice, some seats along with his own one are going to be challenging for him. From Revanth Reddy's team, Patel Ramesh Reddy is also contesting against these leaders. Earlier when joined in congress Revanth and his team were assured to be given the tickets. But as Patel did not get one, he is independently contesting in these elections. Between all these contestants, the main battle remains between Jagadish Reddy and Venkateswara Rao.
