Vihari Kanukollu and Rajesh Kumar Nalla: Two Hyderabad Entrepreneurs make it to the Future 50 global list of PMI

The Project Management Institute is a global association that comprises individuals engaged in project, programme or portfolio management. The association publishes a list of top 50 Entrepreneurs every year. Two Hyderabad Entrepreneurs have made the Future 50 list! They are Vihari Kanukollu and Rajesh Kumar Nalla. Vihari Kanukollu is the co-founder and CEO of UrbanKisaan. Rajesh Kumar Nalla, on the other hand, is the founder of Techimax IT Services.

Future 50 showcases the top next-gen entrepreneurs who will drive value for businesses and society. The Hyderabad Entrepreneurs feature on the list alongside Finland PM Sanna Marin. One other Indian entrepreneur has made the list - Vidhya Abhijith. Vidhya Abhijith is the co-founder of Codewave, a Bengaluru based company.

Both Vihari Kanukollu and Rajesh Kumar Nalla spoke of their companies and their vision.

"We have been recognised for our sustainability efforts and are the only one to represent the agriculture sector. We are rapidly expanding our activities from two farms to 15 by early August. We are spreading across Hyderabad and are also leasing playhouses outside the city. We have so far leased 16-17 acres of poly houses. We have grown from a 20-people organisation to 100. We have just closed a $1.5 million round of funding from global investors led by Y Combinator. We are gradually building the farmer network and improving our technology platform," said Kanukollu.

“I see project management as a life skill and is sector agnostic. We are going to collaborate with PMI to launch new courses to train youth on project management and provide certification,” said Nalla.

Sunil Prashara, the president and CEO of PMI spoke of the Future 50 list's vision.

“This next generation of project leaders are committed to driving change – from having a sense of social responsibility and improving the environment to driving diversity and inclusion. The 50 individuals featured on this list are some of the biggest change-makers of their generation," said Sunil Prashara.

PMI had reached out to hundreds of experts to finalize the nominations. The nominees were then narrowed down by a special vetting committee. After a thorough dive into the nominees, the finalists were then chosen. The Future 50 list has a diverse list of exceptional individuals
