Bigg Boss 16's most recent episode featured a lot of controversy since the parents of Shalin Bhanot, Tina Datta, and Sumbul Touqueer were brought up for an open discussion. For the uninitiated, Salman Khan had already brought attention to Sumbul's obsession with Shalin and urged him to keep his distance. Touqeer Khan then called the channel to inform them of his serious health situation and request a call from Sumbul prior to being admitted to the hospital.
Instead of discussing his illness, he requested Sumbul to "give them a reality check" saying, "Shalin aur Tina ko unki aukaad dikhao."
A number of viewers criticized the entire episode and Touqeer Khan for attempting to defame someone in order to defend his daughter. To compensate, Bigg Boss decided to take matters into their own hands and expose the complete footage of their secret chat to Shalin and Tina, which irritated them.
Mr. Bhanot also brought up the family's invitation to the show when the channel and host Salman Khan did so. When the show and host Salman Khan invited the family to appear on the show, Mr. Bhanot also brought it up and questioned why there had been no mention of or evidence of his illness, which he had used to get a phone contact with his daughter.
