Director S. Mahesh Kumar made his debut with the 2018 Kannada romantic drama Ayogya. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and made Mahesh an overnight sensation in the Kannada cinema. The success of Ayogya brought him the offer of directing Roaring Star Srii Murali for his second directorial, Madhagaja.
This project got announced a few months back and star hero Darshan had released the motion poster of it, about a month ago. A couple of days back, the makers have unveiled the poster of the leading lady clad in a saree and covering her face. They have asked the audience to guess the name of her. Many people have assumed names like Shaanvi, Rashmika, and Bhavna. Finally, the team itself has revealed the face of the heroine the other day. She is none other than a young Banglaore girl, Ashika Ranganath. This is the third film of Ashika, after Avatara Purusha and Raymo. The other films are also in the shooting stages and all these three films might hit the screens in this year itself.
Speaking about Ashika, Mahesh Kumar said that he was looking for a Kannada girl who can pull off the village girl's image. He felt that Ashika was a perfect fit and had cast her immediately. The regular shoot of Madagaja begins on February 20.
