Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, which happens to be the first mainstream Bollywood biggie to release in theaters after the Covid second wave has posted disappointing numbers at the box office collections. Bell Bottom recorded an average occupancy of 15-20% in cinema halls across India and consequently, the film couldn’t even breach the Rs 3 crores mark on its opening day box office collections.
As per box office reports, Bell Bottom collected a net amount of Rs 2.75 crores on its opening day at the box office. The film was released on just around 900 screens in India and that didn’t help the cause either. But these box office numbers can’t be considered all that bad, given the current situation pertaining to the Covid outbreak.
The film might not mint big bucks at the box office, given the fact that it struggled right on its opening day. It remains to be seen if can hold well at the box office in its opening weekend.
Bell Bottom is a suspense actioner based on real incidents, much like almost all of Akshay’s recent outings. The Akshay Kumar starrer is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and it features Vani Kapoor in the female lead role. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, which had wrapped up shoot a long while back is also gearing up for theatrical release. We need to wait and see if this film can fare any better at the ticket counters across India.
