Godfather stars Chiranjeevi in the lead role, with Salman Khan appearing briefly. The picture has done exceptionally well at the box office. The film has already crossed the Rs. 50 crore mark in just two days. The film is looking at entering the Rs 100 crore club during the weekend.
According to early calculations, if the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana trades are included, Godfather gained about Rs.10 crore on Day 3, bringing its total to well over Rs.80 crore. In just two days, the film has earned Rs 69.12 crore worldwide. The Chiranjeevi-starrer is attempting to close the gap and is closing in on an Rs. 100 crore weekend. In the amazing climax shot of the film, Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan are seen sharing screen space.
Godfather is a remake of Lucifer. Chiranjeevi was mentioned in a recent news conference as admitting that he wasn't completely satisfied with Lucifer. "I was skeptical about the original movie. I was not fully satisfied even though I watched its Telugu (dubbed) version. When I was thinking about who will adapt the film according to my image and satisfy me, I invited Satyanand (writer) to the team. One fine day, Ram Charan and NV Prasad thought about how it would be if we have Mohan Raja on board. With Raja's involvement and changes, I was satisfied".
GodFather, directed by Mohan Raja, also stars Nayanthara, Satyadev, and Murali Mohan in prominent roles.
