Praised for the performance of its lead actor, Joaquin Phoenix has turned heads even in the Indian box office. The recently released Joker has collected a total of Rs. 32.7 crores in the last one week. Considering its release alongside the gigantic hit War, Joker has earned a fair share of the business.
The DC comics antagonist film earned around Rs 5 crores on its first day of release. After which it collected Rs 3.65 crore, Rs 5.25 crore, Rs 5.6 crore, Rs 4.35 crore, Rs 5.35 crore on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday respectively, bringing its total box office collection to Rs 32.7 crore in the first week.
Targeted only at a metro audience the film has been a success according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. So, Siddharth Anand’s War is the one shattering box office records. It had already crossed the Rs. 200 crore mark.
Joker follows the story of a middle-aged man in New York City who forced to turn into the criminal Joker because of the city. The film has termed as a fantastic venture into the DC comics villain’s origin story.
