Pathaan Box Office Collections: Shah Rukh Khan Beats KGF 2 And Bahubali 2 To Set A New All-Time Record

Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham and directed by Siddharth Anand, is breaking box office records. It is absurdly high for a movie with only one holiday to rake in the big bucks to have made approximately Rs. 160 Cr. in 3 days from just its Hindi edition. Pathaan beats KGF: Chapter 2 by a margin of almost Rs. 20 Cr. nett, breaking the record for the largest three-day opening weekend in India for the Hindi language.

Pathaan had a first-day Hindi box office gross of roughly Rs. 55 Cr. and increased by Rs. 13 Cr. on Republic Day to reach Rs. 68 crore nett Hindi on its second day. As it declined by less than 50% from its initial day, the hold on Friday was solid. Estimates suggest that it is another Hindi single day worth Rs. 35 Cr. plus. The numbers are still pending. It has significantly outperformed the weekend records previously held by Baahubali 2 (Rs. 127 Cr. nett) and KGF 2 with a 3-day total of almost Rs. 160 Cr. nett (Rs. 140 Cr. nett).

The movie is anticipated to gross above Rs. 250 Cr. over its prolonged 5-day weekend, which has never been accomplished before. The announcement that the movie will gross more than Rs. 300 Cr. in India alone over its prolonged first week is really a formality.

The figures have been strong in single screens as well as in tier 2 and tier 3 theatres, which Bollywood had long since left. The ratio of business in single-screen cinemas is much higher than not just Brahmastra but any Hindi film released in recent times, which explains why the average ticket costs are lower than for films like Brahmastra. The phenomenal box office success of Pathaan has been a breath of fresh air for the Hindi film industry since it confirms that moviegoers are as eager as ever to see movies on a big screen.

By its fourth day, Pathaan will have more than 1 Cr. bookings from just India, and with so much energy left, it's not impossible for this movie to sell more than 2.5 Cr. tickets during its whole run. Selling this many tickets demonstrates the film's appeal given the variety of ways it may be viewed and its excellent performance both inside and outside of India.
