Ram Pothineni's The Warrior opened on screens today. The action thriller has performed decently; figures indicate better performance than Ram Pothineni's 2019 release iSmart Shankar. A drag on collection is the heavy rains across Andhra and Telangana. The collection is better than the flop show Ante Sundaraniki.
The Warrior collected 12.2 Crore gross or 8.73 Crore distributor share on the first release day. Breaking down this figure, the collection for Andhra is 10.2 Crore gross or 7.02 Crore distributor share. Ram Pothineni's iSmart Shankar in 2019 opened at 8.61 Crore gross. The Warrior is playing on approximately 1280 screens worldwide. Of this number, the total screens in Andhra and Telengana are 700 screens. While the rest of India figures for the number of theatres playing the movie is 230 ( Karnataka, Tamilnadu, and the rest of India combined). In the overseas market, The Warrior is playing on 350 screens.
Going into more detail of the collection, the states of Andhra and Telengana combined have collections to the tune of 7.02 crores. Karnataka and the rest of India's collection amount to 2 crores, while the figure for Tamilnadu stands at 4 crores. The Warrior has also collected the pre-release business of 30 crores.
The film should gross 19.5 Crores distributor share worldwide to break even the collection. It would need a worldwide gross of almost 39 Crores to be called a hit.
