Trisha Krishnan's film, Raangi, directed by M Saravanan, was released on 30th December worldwide, in only Tamil. The film is about how a woman and sister are baited to an international criminal, in order to arrest him and bring him to India.
The film is an action thriller, with Trisha being seen in several impressive action sequences. The film has been made on a budget of Rs. 10 Crores, and received a decent response from the audience.

The film Raangi is Trisha's second release for 2022, after she was seen as Kundavai in Ponniyin Selvan. Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, featuring an ensemble cast, was released earlier in 2022, all over the world, in all the South Indian languages, and in Hindi.
Trisha's performance as Kundavai was widely appreciated, and so were her looks on the big screen. She shared screen space with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the first time in the film. Aishwarya played the role of Nandini in the film, which features a huge cast. The second part of Ponniyin Selvan, which is a story about the Chola dynasty, is all set to be released this year. There are good expectations on the second part.
