Director Vamshi Paidipally made his direct Tamil debut with Ilayathalapthy Vijay. The actor is one of the biggest actors in Tamil cinema right now, who enjoys a massive fanbase in the state. Titled Varisu, the film was released on January 11th in Tamil Nadu, for Sankranthi. The Telugu version of the film, titled Vaarasudu, was released on 14th January.
Vijay's every film release is like a festival for his fans. With the actor now coming up with a film release for the festival season itself, it has turned out to be a bigger festival for his fans. The film has been produced by Dil Raju.
Dil Raju has also made his Tamil debut with the film and has tasted good success with Varisu in the state. Rashmika Mandanna is the leading lady of the film, with SS Thaman providing the music. The songs and the background score of the film have been well appreciated by the audience and turned out to be a major plus for the film.
Jayasudha, Sarath Kumar, Srikanth, Shaam, and Prakash Raj can be seen in important roles in the film. Varisu has managed to impress the Tamil audience but has failed to generate any buzz in the Telugu states, despite Dil Raju's many attempts. The Telugu version of the film was released on the 14th but has failed to draw any crowds to the theatres.
